The Children of Gaza

It is incredibly sad to witness not just the death of the 'innocents' but the global blindness about what is happening in Gaza. How does a wanton state get away with such brutality in the 21st century. This is not a clash between 2 sides. The absolute  military might of the oppressor over the oppressed  is like the Springbok rugby side playing rugby against a,first time, grade RR rugby team.  How can this be a war or even a clash. It is genocide and the mainstream media know the facts but pretend that this is a war against  terrorism.  Every year the Israeli government occupies more Palestinian land in contravention of UN resolutions.   This is in itself an act of war. It is so because the intention is to totally dispossess the Palestinians. To write them off the atlas and the history books like they never existed. This is clearly the intention and a rabid world will likely  support this new version of history. When the Palestinians react with stones the Israelis react with missiles. When Hamas reacts with rocket launches then the children of Palestine  are criminalised as terrorists and they are wantonly killed by targeted  airstrikes.  It is not about Islam or Christianity.  It is about human rights abuses and genocide. Many support Israel as a loyalty to Christianity or to the chosen nation. The South African Chief Justice  articulated this point. Surely he should know that our  respective religions share almost the same values. Our traditions and culture might be different but we are all the children of the same Father. In the bigger picture we are all a part of a common humanity. Logically we cannot attack this humanity in the name of any religion.  History is soaked in the blood of holy wars and religious fanaticism that the South African Chief Justice possesses.

The only chosen people I know are those who will speak the truth,  defend humanity and protect God's creation.

God chose all of us to speak up against any abuse against His children even if the attacks are at the behest of His children. God gave us the ability to discriminate. I know its difficult, in the face of widespread propaganda, but in the end we are differentiated from animals because of our ability to discern right from wrong.

At the very least let us pray for all victims of an unjust crime against humanity. A crime that continues to kill both Palestinian & Israeli  innocents. Let us pray for the oppressor  to repent and find a lasting solution for peaceful co existance. It cannot be wrong to support peace but there is something fundamentally inhumane to be blind to what is happening.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) should speedily investigate the violence borne out of illegal occupation.

Let all those charged for human rights abuses be held accountable, in accordance to the weight of their sin, against the "innocents' of the Middle East.
