Understanding Depression

In life you have the selfless doormat who allows itself to be trampled upon. They seek approval and a desire to be a super hero. They invest time and resources in playing the hero but remain intrinsically unfulfilled. Such a person is likely to make mistakes during their hero antics and selfless mindset. They will be judged in the end and placed on the  coals to burn. This kind of depression is largely one of insecurity and relevance. It demands assertive behaviour as opposed to submissive behaviourial  patterns. Submissive people eventually explode in the face of extreme pressure and hurt those closest to them in acts of uncontrolled aggression. Lifestyle adjustments, psycho therapy and medication can help control this disease. It might be chronic but it is manageable.

Then you have victim hood and judgemental behaviour towards others. It  is a part of a darkness that plagues people. The afflicted one  will judge and nail those that love them in the name of their victim hood. This is another aspect of depression that needs key medical and other interventions. The afflicted one requires relevance and attention and they successfully  create conditions to become victims. This is a scary affliction  that may destroy relationships.

Depression should never be allowed to break up families. It is treatable. It is curable. It is manageable. We cannot be prisoners of past afflictions. We must pioneer solutions for a more productive life and a more fulfilled existence.

Depression can be beaten.
